Stem mastering works by separating out the mix into several subgroups, giving more control to the mastering engineer to make finer, less intrusive tweaks to the sound.In most cases this type work is already done at the mixing stage, but sometimes a master can work better if problems areas are isolated before processing. Feel free to contact Dub Studio to discuss the process in more detail. How to create stems. How it works: once you have placed your order, you upload the files to your personal Dub Studio dropbox. We download the stems, mix and master them and then re-upload them when they are done. We do keep the sessions backed up, so further revisions are possible, but as this is already a two-pass process, a small fee is applicable.
