Release your music on a limited edition set of vinyl dub plates! Short runs are a great way to do limited edition releases for your label, bridging the gap between a one-off dub plate and a full pressing run. The set up cost is minimal, and if you do pre-sales you can rest assured you will get the exact quantity you need.

Remember, you can convert a one-off dub into a short run any time - so if you are not sure how many dubs you will need, you can always order one copy and use it for pre-sales, then let us know the final number later. There are price breaks for larger orders, but we will always make sure you pay the same unit price once the final quantity is agreed.

What’s Included

Here at Dub Studio we include free digital copies of the mastered audio (optional), white card sleeves, paper inner sleeves and printed labels (full colour on white, or black on a range of different coloured stock).

Turnaround

Once we have received your order, we book the order into the diary and set a completion date. Working back from there, we also book in a mastering session and reference cut, usually about a week before the rest of the work commences, so there is enough time for you to evaluate the work before we proceed.

Mastering

The tracks for each short run are mastered in-house by Henry, then recorded onto the hard drive and kept for future copies. If you requested copies of the masters, you will receive an update notification email to let you know the download is ready. These vinyl-ready masters are mainly for your reference, but they can also be used for digital release, so it’s a good idea to archive them for future use.

Reference Cut

We call the first cut in your short run a reference disc, because it gives you the chance to check everything is OK before we complete the rest. You can also use it to promote the release and generate pre-sales, but don’t forget to keep hold of it because it will be included in the final count for the short run.

Guarantee

We guarantee all our work, whether it’s for you or any of your customers or fans. All we ask is for any issues to be reported within a week of receipt. Normally we will ask the recipient to send the dub straight to us, but if you prefer to handle the return you can. We guarantee against the following issues only: skips, distortion and surface noise. If any of these things make the disc unplayable, we will recut or refund it upon return.
